Cajun / Creole Dining in Canmore, Alberta!
The Chef & Owner of The French Quarter Café
Loves his Work...
The French Quarter Café in Canmore is a jazzy little bistro that's big on food inspired by the Deep South. Chef & Owner, Michael Raso loves cooking and is a regular visitor to New Orleans. He can't get enough of the ambiance, the music and the special Cajun and Creole food that is associated with The Big Easy. He always comes back to Canmore from these jaunts with fresh ideas, recipes and new menu options for his great little restaurant in the Rockies.
What's Happening at the French Quarter Café...
The Canadian Rockies might seem like an odd setting for Deep South themes and menus but Chef Raso got the idea on a winter vacation to New Orleans in the early 90's. He came back home to Canmore and promptly organized a restaurant that has been featuring exceptional cuisine, jazz music nights, cooking classes and a whole lot of fun for over fifteen years now.
“Forget the Food Network, try the French Quarter.”
Chef Raso still returns to Louisiana every January to keep his cajun/creole cooking skills tuned and authentic. There is always something new and different in his culinary bag of tricks, not to mention Michael's penchant for coming up with new ways to keep his clientele entertained while they are dining or participating in his cooking classes. It's all good fun!
If you are looking for excellent food that is a bit out of the ordinary in these parts, try The French Quarter Cafe in Canmore. While you're at it, say hello to the Chef ...Michael loves to talk about the food, the jazz, and his special spin on New Orleans-inspired recipies.
“...come hungry becuase there's lots of food!”
